Chart Delineation: Donald Trump (1-2)

We have for you a beginner’s level chart delineation for Donald Trump. We’ll cover these concepts:

Let’s get to it.

Casting the Chart

As always, we cast and interpret charts in whole sign. If you use a house system, your interpretation is guaranteed to fail. We’ve decided to teach the mechanics of casting charts in the Advanced section at some point in the future. It’s amazing that some people call themselves an astrologer and when you ask them to cast a chart by hand they sit there staring at you like a cow chewing cud.

Station-Checking

As a second step, we highly recommend you do your station-checking now. You don’t have to do it now. There is a degree of freedom in your methodology to interpret charts but everything has to be done eventually and station-checking is one of the rules you have to follow.

You don’t want to be like the loser Gian Paulo DiCocco who violated the rules and then can’t figure out how Marine Le Pen didn’t get elected president of France.

What are you looking at? That’s an ephemeris listing from SolarFire. We recommend you buy an ephemeris, especially if you want to learn to cast charts by hand. It’s a good investment. You can use it faster than anything online to see eclipses and a whole lot more.

The rules say we check the 7 days prior to, and the 7 days after the birth date. Trump was born June 14th so we look at June 7th thru June 21st. To make sure everyone understand the concept. 7 days means 7 days. 9 days is not 7 days. 8 days is not 7 days. 7 days and 2 hours is not 7 days.

We can see Jupiter is retrograde on June 7. We need to separate astronomy from astrology. In astronomy, Jupiter is in retrograde motion. In astrology, Jupiter is stationary. Any planet sitting at the same degree is stationary whether it is in direct or retrograde motion by minutes of arc. In astrology —but not astronomy— we use the minutes of arc to determine retrograde or direct motion.

For Trump’s ephemeris we say:

  • June 7th: stationary retrograde
  • June 8th: stationary retrograde
  • June 9th: stationary retrograde
  • June 10th: stationary retrograde
  • June 11th: stationary retrograde
  • June 12th: stationary retrograde
  • June 13th: stationary retrograde
  • June 14th: stationary retrograde
  • June 15th: stationary retrograde
  • June 16th: stationary retrograde
  • June 17th: stationary retrograde
  • June 18th: stationary direct
  • June 19th: stationary direct
  • June 20th: stationary direct
  • June 21th: stationary direct

Again, we have no interest in what astronomy says since we’re not practicing astronomy. We’re practicing astrology and this is how we do it in astrology. On June 18th, Jupiter moves from stationary retrograde to stationary direct.

Stationary planets feature prominently in a chart. No, not “stronger.” More prominent.

Prominent: readily noticeable as in conspicuous.

For chart interpretations stationary retrograde is very bad. Stationary direct is very good.

House Rulers

Let’s do a courtesy chart so’s you don’t have to scroll a lot:

We recommend that while you’re fleshing out the house rulers you check for containment.

We’ll present the drill-down hierarchy for you:

  1. House ruler
  2. Exaltation ruler
  3. Trigon ruler
  4. Triplicity ruler

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • The house ruler is always the domicile ruler (that never changes)
  • Domicile rulers indicate what happens
  • Domicile masters or domicile lords dictate what happens
  • Only the trigon rulers and the triplicity rulers are called “lords” (kurios)

Leo 1st House: Sun sextiles Leo making Sun domicile ruler and domicile master of Leo. With Mars present in Leo and Jupiter casting a sextile ray, the 1st House cannot be contained.

Virgo 2nd House: Mercury sextiles Virgo. Mercury is domicile ruler and master of the Virgo 2nd House. Neither the benefics nor the malefics are in a position to contain the 2nd House.

Libra 3rd House: Venus squares from Cancer. Venus is domicile ruler. Technically speaking, Saturn is the domicile master but as a beginner it’s more important that you understand the mechanics than the technical details. With Jupiter in the 3rd House and both malefics casting rays into the 3rd House, the 3rd House cannot be contained.

Scorpio 4th House: Mars squares from Leo. Mars is domicile ruler and domicile master. Venus and both malefics cast rays to the 4th House so it cannot be contained.

Sagittarius 5th House: Jupiter is domicile ruler and master. Containment is not possible since benefics and malefics cast their rays there.

Capricorn 6th House: Saturn is domicile ruler and master. Benefics and malefics casting rays into the 6th House means it cannot be contained.

Aquarius 7th House: Saturn is domicile ruler but Jupiter is domicile master since Saturn makes no aspect to Aquarius from Cancer. Technically speaking, Jupiter is domicile lord but for simplicity we call Jupiter the master. The 7th House receives rays from Mars and Jupiter, thus it is not contained.

Pisces 8th House: Jupiter is domicile ruler. Venus is domicile master since Jupiter is in aversion in Libra. Venus and Saturn casting rays into the 8th House bars its containment.

Aries 9th House: Mars is domicile ruler while Sun is domicile master since Mars trines from Leo and Sun sextiles from Gemini. Malefics and benefics casting rays there prevent containment.

Taurus 10th House: Venus is both domicile ruler and master since Moon is in aversion in Sagittarius. Malefics and Venus casting rays into the 10th House bars containment.

Gemini 11th House: Mercury is domicile ruler. Jupiter is domicile master (although technically domicile lord). Mercury is in aversion to Gemini. Gemini has no exaltation ruler. The air trigon rulers are all in aversion in the Cancer 12th House. Lastly, we go to the air triplicity rulers. The only candidate available is Jupiter who trines from the Libra 3rd House. Mars and Jupiter casting rays there blocks containment.

Cancer 12th House. Moon is domicile ruler. Jupiter is domicile master since Moon is in aversion in Sagittarius. Venus and Saturn in the 12th House prohibits containment.

We determined thru station checking that Jupiter figures prominently in the chart and Jupiter controls four houses in the chart: the Sagittarius 5th House; the Aquarius 7th House; the Gemini 11th House; and the Cancer 12th House.

Again, we remind you this is not news. This was known for 2,000 years or so. The problem is that for the last 800 years of those 2,000 years it was done wrong because the Arabic and Persian astrologers made a FUBAR mess and then the Renaissance astrologers made it even more of a FUBAR mess to the point the Classical astrologers couldn’t figure out what was going on, so they never wrote about it in their texts so Modern astrologers knew nothing about it (not that it matters since they would have found a way to deviously corrupt and pervert it further).

We address in our FUBAR Series on who messed up astrology: Who Made a FUBAR Mess of Astrology (Part 1)
