- A sect-mate of the Light is in a figure on the left in any sign; and << — this is a requirement not an option
- The sect-mate strikes with rays; and << — this is a requirement not an option
- The rays of a diurnal sect-mate in opposition land in front of Sun or the rays of a nocturnal sect-mate in opposition to Moon land behind Moon.

Sun in the 10th House satisfies the first rule.
Basically, Sun or Moon have to be forming a right hex, right square or right trine to a sect-mate. In other words, Sun must be in an applying aspect. What you see here is Sun forming a right trine to sect-mate Saturn at 25° exalted in the Libra 2nd House at . If the sect-mate is in opposition then Sun must be in an applying opposition. Sun has already separated from sect-mate Jupiter barring Jupiter from being a spear-bearer.

Moon in a primary angle in the Leo 10th House meets our first condition.
Moon at Leo 20° in the Leo in a right square to Venus at Scorpio 16° and Mars at Scorpio 18°. Although Moon has separated from Venus and Mars, Moon is still being struck by the rays of Venus and Mars. Since Venus and Mars are sect-mates, they function as spear-bearers for Moon.
Spear-bearing is about eminence, power, rank, status and the ability to rule. “Eminence” is just a highfalutin word for “fame.” Having one or more spear-bearers does not guarantee someone becomes a head-of-State. It merely indicates great fame, high rank, celebrity status and the ability to rule. While Gandhi was not a head-of-State, he literally had 100’s of millions of followers not only in India but also around the world under his sway.
If I did this right, that means Mars is spear-bearing for Moon in my chart. I have Moon in the 10th with Mars hurling rays back at Moon from the 12th as a sect-mate. Mars is at 7° and Moon is at 9°. Thus Mars is a spear-bearer alone since Venus is in aversion to Moon.
So for this rules, excuse my ignorance, but does the sect-mate also need to be in its exaltation or house or can it be in any sign? Are there more restrictive versions based on this rule that make it so the sect-mat DOES have to be in its own exaltation or house.
