Affliction by Enclosure
A star is afflicted when enclosed by the rays of both malefics with no star intervening. Enclosure differs in part since it does not require the victim star to be forming a figure from the right.

Mars at 1° in the Cancer 8th House and Saturn at 5° in the Capricorn 2nd House strike Mercury at 3° in the Libra 11th House with their rays.
Is Mercury afflicted? No. Look closer.
Moon at 4° in the Sagittarius 1st House hurls an intervening ray blocking Saturn.
Is Sun afflicted? No. Sun separated from Saturn and cannot be enclosed in this chart.

Jupiter at 9° in the Cancer 2nd House afflicted by the malefic rays of Mars at 8° in the Libra 5th House and Saturn in opposition at 7° in the Capricorn 8th House.
Remember you rules of astrology. The 7th House is Sagittarius. Jupiter is the domicile ruler, but not the domicile master since Jupiter is in aversion. Sagittarius is not a house of exaltation. We must look at the fire trigon rulers. The fire trigon is Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. The trigon rulers are the house rulers of those signs. The fire trigon rulers are Mars, Sun and Jupiter. Jupiter is disqualified for being in aversion. Sun and Mars both aspect the 7th House from the 5th House. Which one do we choose as domicile master?
The chart is nocturnal so we assign Mars as the domicile master of the 5th House. If the chart was diurnal then Sun would be the domicile master of the 7th House. Recall that when both stars are of the same sect we take the star that is earlier in degrees in the sign.
The 7th House is marriage (and other things). The spouse is the 10th House. That being said, sexual union is also the 7th House. The 8th House is not “sex” no matter how much evil Modern astrologers protest. Sexual union is not limited to romantic affairs. It includes cohabitation which is like marriage but not the same as marriage.
Since Jupiter is domicile ruler of the 7th House, we have domicile ruler of the 7th House in the 2nd House.
What is the 2nd House? Money, personal possessions, real estate, assets, investments, business partners. You can dumb it down to money. What sign occupies the 2nd House? Cancer. What gender is Cancer? Feminine, although we prefer passive for obvious reasons. So, who is benefiting from this money? The Gemini Ascendant or the Sagittarius 7th House? Gemini meaning the “native” benefits (Mercury in the Virgo 4th House is another hint).

The fact that Jupiter is afflicted and is the domicile master of the 10th House is another clue. Afflicted stars often indicate bars, limitations or glass-ceilings.
One would interpret afflicted Jupiter as preventing Harris from reaching the pinnacle of her career.
The pinnacle of her career would be getting elected as the president of the United States.

We’ve seen this chart before in the discussion on enclosure by figure and we said it ended badly for her and you’re probably wondering what reasons might exist.
What is a Goat-Fish? It isn’t exactly goat and it isn’t exactly fish. It’s enigmatic. You know, mysterious. Not completely goat and not completely fish meaning it is incomplete. Do you think the Goat-Fish manufactured by some scheming deranged mad scientist in a little shop of horrors can reproduce on its own? Probably not and that’s probably why the Goat-Fish is a sterile sign.
Do you think an afflicted Venus in the Goat-Fish in the 5th House of children is going to have children? This person could not conceive. Who is the domicile master of the Pisces 7th House? Not Jupiter. It’s afflicted Venus.
The moronic Modern astrologers would go all gaga because Venus is love and marriage in the 5th House. Her marriage ended in divorce. Leave it to Modern astrologers to mess up a free lunch.
Sorry if this question sounds dumb. I am aware the barren signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Capricorn. In one example, using Kamala Harris’ chart IIRC, mentioned how Cancer, a prolific/fertile/productive sign, indicated how she had plenty of financial resources.
In other examples for other topics, it seems like the domicile master of the house is more important. I have Pisces residing in the 5th House and I know the Fishes are prolific. However, the domicile master, Venus, is in Virgo and the Maiden is a barren sign.
So, wouldn’t that indicate having no children? Would Pisces in the 5th just indicate that I have plenty of random good luck or positive encounters?
