Beginner’s Level Chart Delineation: Kamala Harris
We have for you a step-by-step beginner’s level chart interpretation for Kamala Harris. These are the steps a beginner should be able to complete.

If you want to predict anything you must interpret the chart 100% in its entirety. Yes, that means correctly delineating all 12 houses in the chart. Yes, that means delineating the 6th House and the 8th House and the 12th House. If you don’t want to know how you’re going to die or how family and friends will die then astrology is not for you. Astrology is a rules-based scientific study of Fate. You must abide by the rules. For each section we will tell you the rules we are using and show you how to apply those rules.
This is the methodology two of us use. You do have some freedom in methodology and we encourage you to use a methodology that is intuitive to you. In other words, you don’t have to follow the steps exactly as presented here. But, there are certain things that must be done in a certain order.
Step #1: Setting up the Chart
Our birth data for Kamala Harris is October 20, 1964 at 9:28 pm PDT in Oakland, California (37°N48′ by 122°W16′).
All charts are cast in whole sign. If you insist on using a house system then you have already failed. Your chart should look something like this:
This is astrology, not accounting. There’s no need for minutes or seconds of arc. Contrary to popular belief, greater precision does not result in greater accuracy.

Now you understand why everyone totally botched their predictions for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
You can clearly see a difference in the two charts and the major difference is the false and erroneous locations of Mercury and Jupiter.
The primary reason they failed is because they blatantly and willfully violated the rules of astrology.
Cast the chart in whole sign and your interpretation will be 100% accurate.
Step #2: Identifying Domicile Masters
Concepts used:
- Figures: hex, square, trine and opposition, plus presence
- Rank order of houses: 1st, 10th, 7th, 4th, 11th, 5th, 9th, 3rd, 2nd, 8th, 6th and 12th Houses
- Joint domicile rulers
- House rulers
- Exaltation rulers
- Trigon rulers
- Triplicity rulers
- Sympathetic signs
- Containment (Since you have to see which stars are in aspect to each house, we suggest you use this opportunity to check for benefic or malefic containment)
Gemini 1st House: Mercury is in aversion in the Scorpio 6th House. As house ruler of Gemini, Mercury is the domicile ruler of Gemini but not the domicile master. Because Gemini is not a house of exaltation, the rule says we examine the trigon rulers. The trigon rulers are the house rulers (not the domicile rulers or domicile masters) of the signs of the same element. Gemini is an air sign and of the air trigon. The air trigon house rulers are Mercury (Gemini), Venus (Libra) and Saturn (Aquarius). Mercury is disqualified. Our candidates are Venus and Saturn. Venus squares Gemini from the Virgo 4th House. Saturn trines Gemini from the Aquarius 9th House. Because the 4th House is superior in rank to the 9th House, we assign Venus as the domicile master of the Gemini Ascendant.
Since a benefic and a malefic aspect the 1st House, it cannot be contained.
Cancer 2nd House: House ruler Moon squares Cancer making Moon both domicile ruler and domicile master.
Saturn casts a left trine ray to the 1st House and a ray in opposition to the 3rd House containing the 2nd House. However, Jupiter casts a left sextile ray into the 2nd House breaking the malefic containment by Saturn. Venus also casts a right hex ray into the 2nd House breaking containment.
Leo 3rd House: Sun in the Libra 5th House is in a hex figure to Leo. Sun is domicile ruler and master of the Leo 3rd House.
The presence of Mars in the 3rd House prohibits benefic containment. Jupiter casts a left square ray into the 3rd House breaking any potential malefic containment.
Virgo 4th House: Mercury in the Scorpio 6th House forms a hex with Virgo. Mercury is domicile ruler and master.
Saturn casts a ray in opposition to the 3rd House and a right trine ray to the 5th House containing the 4th House. The presence of Venus in the 4th House breaks the containment as does the left trine ray from Jupiter.
Libra 5th House: House ruler Venus is domicile ruler but cannot be domicile master since Venus is in aversion. Libra is a house of exaltation. Our rules say to look at the exaltation ruler. Saturn makes a right trine from the 9th House and is domicile master of the Libra 5th House.
Neither malefic can contain the 5th House. Jupiter’s attempt to contain the 5th House by casting a ray in opposition to the 6th House and a left trine ray to the 4th House is broken by the trine ray from Saturn.
Scorpio 6th House: House ruler Mars squares from the 3rd House making Mars both domicile ruler and master.
There’s no possibility of benefic or malefic containment here.
Sagittarius 7th House: House ruler Jupiter is in aversion in the 12th House. Sagittarius is not a house of exaltation. Our rules say to look at the trigon rulers who are the house rulers (not the domicile rulers or domicile masters) of the fire trigon. With fire trigon ruler Jupiter disqualified our only candidates are Mars (Aries) and Sun (Leo). Mars trines the 7th House but Sun sextiles the 7th House from the superior 5th House. Sun is domicile master of the Sagittarius 7th House.
Since Venus and Mars aspect the 7th House it cannot be contained.
Capricorn 8th House: House ruler Saturn is in aversion. Our rules say to look at the exaltation ruler of Capricorn. Mars is in aversion in the 3rd House. Next we go to the earth trigon rulers who are house rulers (not domicile rulers or masters) Venus (Taurus), Mercury (Virgo) and Saturn (Capricorn). Saturn is disqualified. Mercury sextiles from the 6th House but Venus trines from the superior 4th House making Venus the domicile master of the Capricorn 8th House.
Benefic or malefic containment of the 8th House is not possible in this chart.
Aquarius 9th House: Saturn domiciled in the 9th House is ruler and master.
Benefic or malefic containment of the 9th House is not possible in this chart.
Pisces 10th House: House ruler Jupiter sextiles from the 12th House making Jupiter domicile ruler and master.
Benefic or malefic containment of the 10th House is not possible in this chart.
Aries 11th House: House ruler Mars trines from the 3rd House making Mars the domicile ruler and master.
Benefic or malefic containment of the 11th House is not possible in this chart.
Taurus 12th House: House ruler Venus trines from the 4th House. Venus is domicile ruler and master.
We have completed this step.
No houses are contained and all domicile rulers and master have been identified.
In case you were wondering, for simplicity’s sake:
- oikos = domicile ruler
- oikodespotes = domicile master
The term kurios (lord) applied to the trigon rulers.
As you are probably keenly aware, those terms, oikos, oikodespotes and kurios were totally bastardized by the Arab, Persian and Renaissance astrologers. There’s nothing more disgusting than seeing some pompous ass on an astrology forum say, “Lord of the 9th House, blah, blah, blah….” when they don’t even understand “lord” refers to the trigon rulers or alternately to triplicity rulers and not to the domicile ruler or domicile master.
For ease of learning we simplify it with domicile ruler and domicile master. What’s the difference?
- Domicile rulers indicate
- Domicile masters dictate
So in the chart of Kamala Harris, Venus cannot “see” the Libra 5th House and so only indicates what happens regarding 5th House matters. Saturn as domicile masters dictates what happens regarding 5th House matters. Same for the Gemini Ascendant. Mercury cannot “see” what’s going on in her life and so only indicates things. Venus as domicile master dictates what happens to her life.
As you should already know, when there is no domicile master that is a serious problem in a chart.
Moon is actually in the confines of Saturn in Kamala’s chart.
I am curious as to why Venus isn’t the domicile master for Pisces in Kamala’s chart but Saturn is the domicile master for Libra in Trump’s chart.
To the best of my knowledge: if a sign’s ruler aspects his sign/ house then it becomes its master too; even if an exaltation ruler is in a superior house(like in Kamala’s chart where Venus is in the 4th house and Jupiter is in less advantageous 11th house; Jupiter aspects 10th house Pisces and so becomes its master too).
