Mars in the Taurus 8th House at 1° in a right square to Jupiter in Leo 11th House at 2° and Venus in the Virgo 12th House at 2° elevates Mars. Just as an afflicted star doesn’t always totally ruin a person’s life, an elevated star doesn’t always make their life peachy perfect. Arthur Ashe was a great tennis player. He died at age 49 after contracting HIV through a tainted blood transfusion no thanks to Red Cross executives who didn’t want to waste money testing the blood supply lest they be forced to order foie gras as an appetizer instead of Beluga caviar to go with their 1954 Dom Perignon.

Saturn in the Sagittarius 1st House at 6° in a right square to both Venus and Jupiter in the Pisces 4th House elevates Saturn.
Saturn in a good state can create things that are durable and long-lasting. That includes life, meaning Saturn can increase longevity. Here, Saturn is more than just in a good state. Saturn is elevated. Saturn is also in the bounds of Jupiter domiciled in the Pisces 4th House along with exaltation ruler Venus. Most importantly, Jupiter aspects its own bounds in Sagittarius where Saturn sits.
Sadly, there is no software or online source that correctly calculates the Lot of Fortune and in this chart that can be very misleading. While we haven’t covered the Lots yet, in this chart the Lot of Fortune is actually the Lot of Spirit. The true Lot of Fortune actually sits in Sagittarius at 14° and since Jupiter is both domicile ruler and master that also helps create a good long life.
Anger died at age 96 even though he did spend the last few months of his life in a long-term care facility.
One other thing of note is Mercury in aversion in the Aquarius 3rd House is the domicile ruler, but not the master of the Virgo 10th House. Since earth trigon ruler Saturn is posited in the superior house, Saturn is the domicile master of the 10th House.
But not for Saturn being elevated it’s unlikely anyone would know who Kenneth Anger was (he was an avant garde film-maker).
One final thing. We’re lacking confidence in Rhetorius and not very fond of him. It’s doubtful Rhetorius was an astrologer. A compiler, yes, but astrologer? Not likely. Like Anger, Rhetorius was a very confused person. Rhetorius says the ruler of the 3rd House in the 1st House indicates the first-born or only child. That isn’t what earlier Greeks said. What they said was the domicile master of the 3rd House in the 1st House indicates the 1st-born child or the child who becomes the 1st-born child which was the case for Anger who was the 3rd-born of three children. Anger was not living in the United States when his mother died. He had to return to the U.S. to manage his mother’s estate since his older brother and sister were dead.
Yes, master of the 9th House in the 3rd House indicates “travel away from home” or “being away from home” and sometimes Anger really was traveling away from home in a foreign country but most of the time he was just traveling away from home.
